ADVANTAGES:

  • Cost savings for installation and dismantling during major projects
  • Less complex and less costly installation.
  • Decrease in the amount of material (less tower sections are required) for internal climbing (tower crane in suspension)

The Comansa Rental team is the solution to all your tower cranes needs!

EXTERNAL CLIMBING
(the crane stays on its base)

  • The crane is attached to the adjacent structure (normally under construction) and is raised by a telescoping cage system.
  • Tower sections are added at the top of the crane to raise its height, but the crane remains attached to its concrete base.

For example, a variance of this principle was used on the expansion project of a corporate building in Montréal. The crane had to be at a 96 m (315’) height at the hook to exceed the surrounding buildings. The crane was attached to the existing adjacent building to reach the desired height. Once again, Comansa Rental’s expertise enabled to come up with an economical solution!

INTERNAL CLIMBING
(crane in suspension, without touching the ground, and attached to the concrete or steel structure)

  • The crane is attached to the adjacent structure (normally under construction) and is raised by a telescoping cage system.
  • The crane is then unattached from the base, and its height is raised while suspending the crane to the adjacent structure.
